Whose aim is not to ruin, but create?
Everybody knows that love is great!
P2: Every February we celebrate Valentine’s Day by giving flowers, candies and cards
to those we love. We do this in honor of Saint Valentine. You may be wondering,
“Who is St. Valentine?”
P1: The story is that Valentine was a Christian who lived in the third century. The Roman Emperor at that time Claudius the second decided that soldiers must not marry, because married soldiers do not make good soldiers. Valentine worked for the church, and one day he helped a soldier to get married. The Emperor said that Valentine had to die because he did wrong. In prison Valentine fell in love with the daughter of a man who worked in prison. The day he died, he sent a note, he wrote “Your Valentine”.
P2: In the early nineteenth century people started to send Valentine’s cards to the person
they loved on the 14th of February. The cards had pictures of flowers and birds on.
As usual the valentine cards have the shape of the hearts. And what words can we write
on the card?
P1: Now we give you some Valentine’s cards, but they are cut. You have to find your half
of the card and read the words inside it. So let’s start.
(Учні витягують половинки валентинок, шукають свою пару, лунає музика)
Are you ready? Let’s read the words inside your cards!
P2: How many poems are written about love?! Some are miserable and lonely, but others
are marvelous and devoted. Very often people speak about love in poems. And now our
pupils will read some of them!
(Учні розповідають вірші)
P1: Love is a wonderful thing though it’s sad.
Love makes you happy and goes to your head.
Love keeps you lively when others are down.
Love keeps you smiling no trace of a known.

Love makes you a daydream, makes thing seem all right.
Love seems forever. Love never ends.
Until those dreaded words let’s still be friends.

Let’s do it!

Let’s read what they mean!
(роздають тексти учням із поясненням змісту кожного символу, учні зачитують,вчитель вивішує символи на дошку)
P2: Now let’s play a game. Your task is to take one heart with a word and show all pupils its
meaning with a help of hands, legs, every part of your body. You can jump, run, smile,
but don’t speak. We’ll try to guess what word is it. Let’s start.
